If combined with solution 1 and there is only one dock, then automatically switch to that map Proposed solution 3, when locating for dock, consider multifloor maps, just like locating for cleaning. Proposed solution 2, do not try to dock if the cleaning does not start from dock, just return to starting point Proposed solution 1, let user specify if a map contains dock, if not, don’t look for dock on that map. I do this with voice commands.īut seriously, all these can be easily fixed. My work around is to start cleaning instead of docking, since in this mode it can always locate to different maps, and once it does, immediately ask it to dock. There are workarounds such as switching the map in the app before docking. The issue is two fold:Īfter cleaning the floor with no docking station, the robot will wander all over the place to look for the dock when clearly there is no dock, every single time.Īfter waiting for its stupidity and returning to the starting point (some times it fails to do so and stops at random location), you carry it to the floor with dock, press the home button, but it will never be able to switch to the right map and dock. I'd love to hear from someone more versed in how this actually functions.Just did a brief search and it seems users are still troubled by this. For the 2-4 maps, please change building layout to multi-floor. (whose position is not moved) by itself and successfully.

ROBOROCK DOCKING STATION MOVED ON MAP MANUAL
If the base had been in a different room, or if line of sight to the base were blocked, this may not have sorted itself out so neatly. We provide services such as user manual downloading, technical documents. I suspect while the robot was turning in circles looking for the dock in the old location, a sensor picked up a signal (likely optical?) from the base station in the new location, and thus was able to drive itself there. *A note on #6 above - I'm not sure how this would have worked out if I had changed the room that the base was in.

(I know the Eufy L70 has to start from scratch when this happens, so it was a nice surprise.) 10 18 comments Add a Comment jockovonred 2 yr.
ROBOROCK DOCKING STATION MOVED ON MAP UPDATE
I was pleased to discover that the robot is able to update the location of its base station without resetting the map. I was concerned that I would have to wipe out the map of the entire house (along with room assignments, etc.) and start over. My wife and I rearranged the room that contains the base for our Roborock S4, resulting in my moving the base station from one wall of the room to another wall of the same room.
